Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk
Position Summary:
Vernon Toyota is currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to fill the role of an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable clerk. This person will process all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions for Vernon Toyota and related companies utilizing SERTI Software or Sage software. They will also handle general bookkeeping and office administration tasks, as well as reception coverage.
- This is a full-time position 4-5 days per week, 8 Hour variable shifts Monday to Saturday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Enter cash receipts and accounts payable vendor invoices into accounting software
- Run and reconcile various Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable reports for month end procedures
- Print and send monthly accounts receivable statements
- Print accounts payable cheques or process credit card payments and match with vendor invoices
- Update and maintain customer and vendor database
- Assist with month-end procedures
- Perform basic office tasks such as filing, emails, answering phones etc.
- Provide Reception coverage such as reconciling daily cash, greeting customers, answering phones, bank deposits, etc.
Education/Experience:
- General Accounting / Office Administration course or equivalent work experience
- Must have basic knowledge of accounting principles
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, SERTI or Sage experience an asset
- Must be able to operate various office equipment, such as multiline phone system etc.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and courteously to all staff and customers through phone or in person
- Must have strong organizational skills, be able to multitask, be efficient with time management, and interpret verbal and written instructions
- Must be detail oriented with an attention to accuracy in their work
- Must be a reliable and positive person and able to work as a team player
