Always at the forefront of innovation, the newest lineup of Toyota cars, trucks, crossovers, SUVs and hybrids is among the most anticipated in the automotive industry year after year. With advancements in tech, safety, fuel economy, power, comfort and styling, drivers across British Columbia are eager to get behind the wheel of the newest versions of their favourite Toyotas. So when can we expect the 2021 lineup to roll into Vernon Toyota? Today on the blog, we’re spilling the tea on what we know about the next generation of 2021 Toyota vehicles!
In previous years, we typically welcome new cars in the late summer, SUVs by fall, and trucks in early January. What’s different about 2020 is that we’ve all been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. There were several months of production and shipping lost to the spring quarantine, and automotive inventory is only just starting to recover worldwide. Although we can’t control the supply of Toyotas coming out of the factory, our team is working feverishly to secure enough inventory of BC’s favourite Toyota cars, trucks and SUVs so that drivers across the Okanagan can get behind the wheel of a 2021 vehicle!
For now, let’s remain positive and assume that this year will follow the same format as previous years. Here’s what we are predicting the 2021 Toyota rollout to look like:
We expect brand new 2021 models like the all new Venza crossover and the exciting RAV4 Prime (a plug-in hybrid-electric SUV with 302 horsepower that uses as little as 2.6 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres) by the end of August, 2020. This is exciting news for folks who may be rejoining weekday commuter traffic or the school pickup/dropoff schedule in September. Other popular Toyota cars like Corolla, Camry, Avalon, Yaris, and Prius are also expected in late summer and early fall, and are sure to impress with a host of new advanced features.
In mid-to-late fall, Toyota is set to unveil Trail Editions in three of their most popular off-roading powerhouses: Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner. These tough trucks and SUVs will be some of the most advanced vehicles on the market for tackling rugged terrain and a wide range of weather conditions - perfect for West Coast adventures. Expected to launch in the same timeframe, 2021 Tacoma will be available in an all-new trim, Tacoma Nightshade, and will be sporting black on black interior and exterior features for the coolest Taco yet.
What about our family favourites, like Highlander and Sienna? We are hopeful that both of these 7-8 seaters will be available in late 2021, but Toyota is keeping the official launch date for both vehicles under wraps. What we do know is that Sienna and Highlander XSE are undergoing ground-up redesigns for 2021, and we anticipate them to be industry leaders on what style, safety, tech, comfort and versatility should look like for family vehicles in the new decade.
